Lesson: The People Turn to Idolatry

November 14, 2011

for Saturday, 19 November 2011

Teaching: Lorene (older kids), Josie (younger kids)

Helping: Ally, Rachel

Driving: Ben

Memory Verse: (note: different from version in text) “Let us be thankful for receiving a kingdom that can’t be shaken, and let us worship God in a way that pleases him, with respect and wonder.” (Hebrews 12:28)

Scriptures: (Golden Calf) Exodus 24:12-18; 31:18; 32:1-33; 34:12-14

Notes:

  • Please ask review questions to specific kids (the “Pick 12″ game on page 22 works) instead of generally to a team of kids. This way, all the kids feel motivated to take part, and kids who know all the answers won’t feel conspicuous.
  • If you would like some supplies prepared (such as the cross visual on page 17), you may ask Chris V early in the week.
  • Josie: do you have the lesson book (“Moses the Lawgiver”)? I know we have a sixth copy, but I forget whether we got it to you. I could send you a copy via email.
  • Ally: I will send you a copy of the review questions & game.
